We Did It Again! VIDAWORKS Wins Best of Show at the 2022 American Advertising Awards.
VIDAWORKS wins Best In Show from The Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Advertising Federation(AAF) for a second year in a row.
An old German proverb says, “Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.”
At VIDAWORKS this is always in the back of our minds, reminding us to be wary of the trap of running with something new and shiny just because it is new and shiny. It cannot be denied that innovations in delivering a message have revolutionized the world of branding and marketing, but the challenge is to incorporate these innovations into the tried-and-true components of our industry lest we “throw out the baby” with a misguided “race to be modern” mentality.
This is the problem-solving approach we applied to providing an effective recruiting tool for our client PiP Dental Partners of Issaquah, Washington. To have our printed – yes, I said “printed’ – piece we created for PiP win the AAF Northeast Pennsylvania 2022 Best of Show Advertising Award validates this approach in a most satisfying way. In short, we must be doing something right.
The brochure we created for PiP is designed to reach and entice their unique, specialized audience, selling not only what the client has to offer to young, newly licensed dentists, but also where the client offers it, the beautiful, modern, welcoming environment in and around Seattle, Washington. For starters, our brochure, printed locally at Independent Graphics (also honored at this year’s Addy Awards event), is not your traditional printed piece. It has a unique design, unique size, unique fold, and unique feel. Then there’s the augmented reality. Using their smart phones, prospective clients are able to see and hear, in video format, the partners at PiP tell their story, to explain how and why they are different from all other dental partnerships. Further, also through this immersive technology (AR), we are able to sell Seattle itself and all it has to offer.
In addition to Best of Show, our PiP brochure also received a Gold Award, once again underscoring our approach to problem-solving. Needless to say it was a good night for VIDAWORKS also winning Judges Choice for the Magazine Design, Scranton Preparatory School, PrepNews as well as Gold & Silver Awards in other competing categories.
Chris Vida, CEO & CCO admits, we were “blown away” by this year’s Best of Show honor coming one year from VIDAWORKS also winning the 2021 Best of Show Award. “It is immensely gratifying to be recognized by your peers, among your peers”. But when all is said and done, we always remember the immortal words of advertising icon David Ogilvy: The ultimate measure of an ad is “does it make the cash register ring.” There are few cash registers these days, but Ogilvy's point remains. No matter what we create, the bottom line is: does it work? The pieces for which we have been recognized do just that. They work for our clients. That is the greatest award.
